3 Condolences for “DAWSON William”

  1. Debbi Diebert Zuback says:

I am truly sorry that I did not know of Bill’s passing as I surely would have liked to have come. I have known Bill since I was a small child born and raised in Jefferson. I will always remember when everyone used to mix up our names…Bill always knew which one we were….as there are 6 of us girls. He was always so very pleasant and always spoke to me and we could carry on a great conversation. I am sorry that I haven’t seen him in the last 10 years or more. Truly a gentleman. I send this condolence from all the Diebert Girls.

  2. Dawn says:

Our most heartfelt condolences for your loss. In this most difficult time please find comfort in knowing that God invites us to throw our burdens on him, and He Himself will sustain us (Psalmes55:22)
Our thoughts and prayers are with you.
    Dawn.

  3. Bill Welch says:

Yes it’s 7 years after the fact and I don’t know if anybody will read this. I heard of Bill’s passing not long after in 2013 but was Googling Bill Dawson now as today would have been my late Dad’s 89th birthday and Bill was one of his good friends.

Two things I remember about Bill.

He always helped us with branding and he always had the same job – with just his trusty sharp knife he would quickly and efficiently castrate each of the bull calves. That required surgical precision and was not an easy or pleasant task especially on hot, dusty days with calves squirming around and kicking.

Another thing I remember hearing about is that he got a perfect 29-point hand in crib during his last years in this world. I’ve played countless crib hands over the years and I’ve NEVER has a 29-point hand.
