COOK Georgia

GEORGIA F. COOK passed away on April 24, 2013 at Edith Cavell Care Centre.
Georgia was predeceased by her first husband Goodwin J. Berg in 1955, by her second husband William H. Cook in 2000, her grandson Vaughn V. Berg in 2004 and by her Step Son Darrell W. Cook in 2010. She is survived by her son George G. Berg (Ingrid); Grandsons Aaron Berg (Amy), Devan Cook, Danny O’Neill; Granddaughters Jocelyn Cook, Kathy O’Neill, Darrell’s wife Sheilagh Cook; stepdaughter Lorene O’Neill (Collin); three wonderful great granddaughters and one great grandson.
Georgia lived a long and wonderful life having been born on the farm 10 miles East of Nanton, AB and learning to farm from her dad Homer Montgomery. She married her childhood sweetheart Goodwin in 1937 and they farmed in the Nanton district until 1955. After the untimely death of Goodwin she went to work in Nanton making a living by driving school bus, accounting and clerking in a Drug store. She met and married Hal Cook in 1964 and they had 36 wonderful years together mostly being retired and living in Victoria, Kelowna and High River.
Georgia moved to Lethbridge after the death of Hal Cook to be close to George and lived in Columbia Assisted Living, Sunrise Village, and Edith Cavell Care Centre. She was always a pleasure to be around and was loved by her caregivers. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
A Memorial Service will be held at the MISERICORDIA CENTRE, 1303-13 St. N., Lethbridge, AB, on April 30, 2013 at 1:30 P.M., with Dr. William Calderwood, Officiating.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations can be made to Bridges of Hope, P.O. Box 81 Stn. Main, Lethbridge, Alberta T1J-3Y3 or to a Charity of your choice.
