MR. BERNHARD “BEN” WALSER beloved husband of Mrs. Renate Walser, passed away suddenly after a lengthy illness at St. Michael’s Palliative Care on Monday, April 22, 2013 at the age of 81 years.
Ben was born on July 26, 1931 in Ottobeuren, Allgaü, Germany, son of Bernhard and Franziska Walser. He attended school in Ottobeuren and got his certification as a painter (house) before he moved to Canada in 1954. Ben enjoyed the outdoors, reading, skiing, mountain climbing, hiking, camping, and traveling especially down south. He belonged to the Lethbridge Chinook Outdoor Club.
Besides his loving wife Renate, Ben is survived by his daughter Susan Walser; four sons Ben Jr, Michael “Mike”, Robert and David; grandchildren Jasmine, Ryan, Richard Vanderwal, Adam, Christopher Vanderwal, Matthew, Sarah, Pamela, Mitch, Taylor, and McKenzie; great-grandchildren Treyton and Linnea; brother Helmut Walser; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and their families.
A Funeral Service will be celebrated at 11:00am on Saturday, April 27, 2013 at MARTIN BROTHERS RIVERVIEW CHAPEL, 610- 4th Street South, Lethbridge, AB with Deacon Ray Wagner officiating.
