1943 ~ 2013
With sad hearts, we announce the sudden passing of Maurice “Moe” Gauthier on April 25, 2013 at the age of 70 years.
Moe was an incredibly hard working, robust, and personable man. Retirement was not for him, which is why he continued to work until his last day. However, Moe always found the time to enjoy life, especially fishing, snowmobiling and quadding in the mountains. He was a proud family man who loved group gatherings and treasured the many friends in his life. Moe will be profoundly missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him.
Besides his loving wife, Helen Gauthier, Moe is survived by his two daughters, Caulette (Dave) McElhaw and Lana (Dwayne) Pittman; his three sons, Bert (Gayla), Michael (Glenys) and Darren (Heather); special family members Jan, Troy and Jordan Hicks; four sisters, Yvonne (Larry) Henderson, Denise (John) Giovanni, Frances (Bert) McNair and Terry (Richard) Burghardt; three brothers, Ed (Collette), Ray (Shirley) and Herve (Joy). Moe had six amazing grandchildren and two great grandchildren as well as numerous nieces, nephews and their families.
Moe was predeceased by his parents Fernand and May; his two brothers Omer and Vic; and one sister, Marie Russin.
A Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 pm on Thursday, May 2, 2013 at MARTIN BROTHERS RIVERVIEW CHAPEL, 610 – 4 Street South, Lethbridge.
Flowers are gratefully declined. For those who wish, memorial donations may be made to the Canadian Heart and Stroke Foundation, PO Box 2211, Lethbridge, AB T1J 4K7.
