MR. FRANK EMIL PAVLIS, passed away at the Chinook Regional Hospital on Thursday, July 11, 2013 at the age of 77 years. Frank is predeceased by his loving wife Margaret, his mother Helen, father Frank, grandfather John and grandmother Annastella.

Frank is survived by his devoted daughter Natalie, niece Cyndi (James) and great-niece Cianna and many family and friends. Frank was born in Raymond on November 12, 1935 and raised by his grandmother after the tragic loss of his mother. He farmed near Turin for 35 years specializing in cattle, beets and grain. It was love at first sight when he met Margaret Gomany in 1966. The Czech farm boy quickly turned the Hungarian beauty into a farm girl. In 1971 they welcomed the arrival of bouncing baby girl Natalie, who stole her daddy’s heart. Frank was down to earth and pragmatic and lived the lesson, “if you can’t say anything nice, don’t say anything at all.” He was a kindhearted man and had a natural gentleness. After he retired from farming in 1989 he spent his time golfing, fishing and curling. He was chiefly proud of his two hole-in-ones at the Picture Butte Golf Club and curling an “eight-ender” in Coaldale. He loved fishing in the mountains and at Duck Lake. Frank loved opera, particularly La Bohème, He enjoyed watching sports of all kinds, particularly baseball and hockey. Special thanks to all the caring health care professionals in Calgary and Lethbridge who helped make this difficult journey a little easier. A funeral service will be held at CORNERSTONE FUNERAL HOME — 2800 Mayor Magrath Drive South, Lethbridge, Alberta – today, Saturday, July 13th, 2013 at 11:00 A.M.
