Violet Swanson passed away peacefully at the Sarcee Hospice in Calgary on September 18, 2013. Throughout her 99 years, she touched the lives of many with her kindness, generosity, good humour, strength, and great love of family. She was a loving wife to Carl, who predeceased her in 1982; and was devoted to her two children Wayne (Diane) and Glenda (Neil); her three grandchildren Tim (Bertha), Carolyn, and Kirsten (David); her four great-grandchildren Jeffrey, Justin, Michael and Annika. Her sister Florence and many nephews and nieces also lovingly remember Violet. A Celebration of Violet’s Life will be held at McInnis and Holloway’s Chapel of the Bells (2720 Centre Street North) on Saturday, September 28, 2013 at 2:30p.m. She will be interred the following day in the Archmount Cemetery in Lethbridge.
