KONRAD Francis

June 11, 1936 — Budapest, Hungary September 29, 2013 — Calgary, Alberta Frank, beloved husband of Mary Konrad (nee Nemeth) of Calgary, AB, passed away on September 29, 2013 at the age of 77 years.

Frank’s strong love of family was obvious throughout his lifetime and was particularly evident during his last days which were spent with his loved ones close by his side. Frank was born in Budapest, Hungary and bravely set out with his young wife, Mary, to Canada in 1957. They settled in Calgary where they began raising their four children until their move to Lethbridge in 1970. There, Frank owned and operated several businesses including Epicure Fine Foods and Delicatessen. Frank and Mary returned to Calgary in 1985 where his deli expertise was respected by first Safeway and then Co-op. He will always be remembered for his generous and kind heart, friendly nature and lively conversation. Frank’s contagious smile will be fondly missed by all those who knew him. Although travel, food and friends were a big part of his life, he was most fulfilled by his devotion to his wife, children and grandchildren. Besides his wife Mary, Frank is survived by his four children George (Jane), Sue (David), Shirley (Shawn) and Francis (Barb). He will also be dearly missed by his four granddaughters, Kira, Madison, Lexi and Elizabeth. Frank was predeceased by parents Rosalia (nee Miller) and Ferenc Konrad and his brother Laszlo, of Budapest, Hungary. Funeral Services will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S Crowfoot Chapel (82 Crowfoot Circle N.W.
