Esther, Else (Ella) Stabner June 19, 1921 — Sept 30, 2013 ESTHER ELSE “ELLA” STABNER, passed away at St.

Michael’s Palliative Care Centre in Lethbridge, Alberta on September 30, 2013 at the age of 92 years. She was born on June 19, 1921 in Grahamdale, Manitoba to Gustaf and Louise, Summerfield. Ella grew up in Grahamdale, with two brothers and two sisters and had a hard life with her mother passing away when she was only 13. She married Charlie in 1939 and they moved to Winnipeg from the farm and were there until 1987 when they moved to Lethbridge, Alberta to be closer to family. They were married for 50 years. She was a member of the Lutheran Church and loved dressing up on Sundays to attend service. Ella enjoyed sewing, baking, cooking, garage sales, dancing, listening to music, gardening, her dog Brandy and her special visits with family and friends. She had a great sense of humor and was such a strong lady; even with fighting cancer to the end. Ella is survived by her daughter Marlene (Dennis) Starner, her daughter Juyne (Carl) Gibson, her grandchildren Coral (Frank) Devcich, Darwyn (Shelly) Starner, Lisa (Dave) Broersma and her great-grandchildren Gabriel Devcich, Bryann, Alyssa and Alinna Starner, Aysia and Lilly Broersma, her many nieces and nephews and other relatives and special friends. Ella was preceded in death by her parents, siblings, husband Charlie Stabner, grandson Kevin Starner and special friend Bruce Robinson. Special thanks to all of Ella’s friends especially Lori Fromm, Sally Petersen and Doreen White for their never-ending support and friendship. And also special thanks to the staff for the care provided at St. Therese and St. Michael’s Palliative Care. A Memorial Service will be held at the LUTHERAN CHURCH OF THE GOOD SHEPHERD, 2406 11 Avenue South, Lethbridge on Saturday, October 5, 2013 at 11:00 A.M. with a reception to follow. A private family burial will be held prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the SPCA, 2405 41 Street North, Lethbridge or the Canadian Cancer Society, 317 10 Street South, Lethbridge.
