DORIGATTI Alfred

1919 ~ 2013 Mr. Alfred “Fred” Dorigatti , beloved husband of the late Evelyn “Didi” Dorigatti passed away at the Chinook Regional Hospital on Friday, October 11, 2013 at the age of 94 years.

He is survived by his three daughters and their husbands – Mauneen and Darryl Amen; Anita and Daryl Ferguson; and Loretta and Dennis Hanzel. He was also blessed with seven grandchildren and their spouses and 14 great grandchildren. Darilyn (Kevin – Adam and Haley, Chad, Drew, Jennie, Maggie, Eva and Marc); Fred (Scott); Chris (Donna – Evelyn and Bogart); Michael (Terra – Shaylynn and Ty); Lisa (Darren- Jesse and Gage); Ryan (Cindy – Emma, Matteo and Anthony); and Jewel (Travis – Angel Baby Maxwell). Fred is also survived by his nephew, Garry (Connie)Dorigatti and family; and nieces Mona Simmons and Pat Boyce and their families and many other relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his wife, Evelyn “Didi” and his infant great grandson, Maxwell; his parents, John and Erminia Dorigatti, his three brothers and sisters-in-law – Art and Anne, Alan and Dorothy and Lloyd and Eleanor and two sisters, Sylvia and Eda. Fred was also predeceased by Didi’s parents and siblings. Fred loved all people but especially loved his family. His ready smile and warm welcome was meant for anyone who walked through his door. Throughout his life, Fred was always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone in need and rejoiced when he could help one of his children, grandchildren or great-grandchildren with anything they might need. Fred retired in the 1970’s after a long and dedicated career of working for the Canadian Pacific Railway. His grandchildren loved to hear his stories of when he worked “on the rails”. He also worked many hours with his brother Art at Dorigatti Construction. He was a respected lifelong member of the Lethbridge community and was very proud to be a member of All Saints Parish, a founding member of the St. Pat’s Knights of Columbus (Council #10547) and a member of the Italian Canadian Club and B.P.O. Elks. Also very important to Fred were his coffee buddies and the Saturday morning breakfast group. Since Didi’s passing in 2001, Fred continued his role as a devoted husband, visiting her resting place daily. He yearned for the day that they could be together again. Anyone whose life and heart were touched by this wonderful man will miss his presence in their lives. A Prayer Vigil will be held at 7:00pm on Friday, October 18, 2013 at MARTIN BROTHERS RIVERVIEW CHAPEL, 610 4th Street South, Lethbridge.
