October 16, 1921 – October 20, 2013 It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Dorothy Mae Weatherhead, on October 20, 2013 at the age of 92 in the Claresholm General Hospital.

She leaves behind her four children David (Marjorie) Evans, Shelley (David) Rosser, Miles (Wendy) Weatherhead and Lori Gunderson; her eight grandchildren Kevin, Trent, Darren, Scott, Brent, Kelly, Janelle and Brittany; eight great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Dorothy was predeceased by her husband Sheldon in January of 2009. Dorothy was born in Magrath, Alberta on October 16, 1921, the eldest of two children. She moved to Claresholm with her young son David, where she worked in the Soda Fountain at the Claresholm Pharmacy. Here she met Sheldon at a community dance and they were married on December 6, 1947. Dorothy was an active member of the Claresholm United Church Women and various church activities for many decades. Dorothy enjoyed knitting, sewing, word puzzles, Sunday drives and of course, coffee with the ladies. She will be remembered as a loving and nurturing Mother, Grandmother and Great-Grandmother, who cherished time with family and friends. Dorothy’s family would like to thank the Doctors and Nurses at the Claresholm General Hospital for the excellent care she received and Cottonwood Retirement Village staff for their support.
