In October 1985 Ron moved to Taber with his family and began working the oil rigs until his health no longer permitted. At that time he moved into Legacy Lodge in Lethbridge where he resided until the time of his passing. Ron enjoyed many types of sports including football, hockey, baseball and Nascar racing. He also loved to camp and fish.
