March 4 1926 – November 13 2013 Albert Markus of Lethbridge, beloved husband of Hazel, passed away peacefully at St.

Michael’s Health Centre on November 13, 2013 at the age of 87. Besides his loving wife Hazel, Albert is survived by his daughter Barbara (John) Nast, and two sons Larry (Gisele) and Leonard, his brothers Karl and Pete and sisters Hilda and Clara. He held a special place in his heart for his seven grandchildren Chad, Wes (Chelsea), Ashley (Aaron), Ava, Scott, Lisa (Bradley), and Tyler, and two great-grandchildren, Ayden and Adalyn. He was predeceased by his parents Karl and Mary and his brother Hank. Albert grew up in Nobleford where he met his sweetie, Hazel. They married in 1949 and eventually moved to Lethbridge. Albert operated his own trucking business, Southwest Trucking, and retired in 1986. After retirement Al loved helping his family with renovating, babysitting and everything in between. His second home was the Senior’s Centre, where he loved to play crib with friends. Albert lived a great life and was full of wit and humor. He loved a good game of cards, afternoon coffee, puttering in his garage, entertaining his grandchildren, and maintaining a beautiful home and yard. Although we already miss you dearly, you have taught us all so much- and we are so thankful. You will live on through each and every one of us. The family would like to extend thanks to the staff at St. Michael’s Health Centre for their excellent care. A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, November 23, 2013 starting at 1:30 pm at Lethbridge Senior Citizens Organization, 500 11 St. S. Flowers are gratefully declined.
