PAHARA Shannon

SHANNON RAE PAHARA fought the brave battle of Lupus and Sjogren¹s Disease and succumbed on Friday, November 15th, 2013 at the age of 43 years. Shannon was predeceased by her Papa (grandpa), John Pahara and nephew Jace Kylen Pahara. She is survived by her best friend and companion Jason McFarlane, her dad, Dennis Pahara, mom, Carol Dancoisne and Step-dad Dave Dancoisne, one sister, Cindy Pahara, one brother, Clint “Kimbo” (Dawn) Pahara, her Nana, Lillian Pahara, Grampa and Gramma Peter & Lena Martens. Her kind and compassionate heart at a young age led her to Africa, where she worked with handicapped children. Her time there was cut short when she developed Malaria, which eventually lead to Lupus and Sjogren¹s Disease. She had a lot of enthusiasm, creativity and a quirky sense of humour. Shannon wrote well-thought poetry to express her feelings. She also contributed (sometimes) controversial articles to the Lethbridge Herald, prompting people to think “outside the box”. She was also a big supporter of the Native community. A private family service has been held. Interment followed in Mountain View Cemetery. In memory of Shannon, contributions may be made to the Lupus Society of Alberta, 202, 1055 20th Ave. N.W., Calgary, Alberta. T2M 1E8.
