“Ricky” Smith (pictured on our wedding day) died peacefully in Sechelt with his spouse Nick Tattersall beside him. His joyful soul will live on in each of us. Our gratitude to those who love Rick; friends and family are treasures. You know who you are – too many to mention! Thanks to the nurses and caregivers everywhere. Rick was predeceased by his father, Derrill F. Smith. He would appreciate donations to the SPCA. “A friend is one who knows you and loves you just the same.” E. Hubbard

Rick has always been so very welcoming and warm to all who crossed his path. A welcome was always extended from him when I visited Vancouver and he took the time to foster and care for his friendships, supporting my family in their endeavors. You will be missed my friend. My deepest condolences to your husband Nick, to your Mom Sharon, to your siblings and all those who loved you. Rest peacefully! I love you.

I am so sorry to hear about Rick. He was/is a very special, heartfelt, caring person. We enjoyed his humor and amazing smile all the time. There aren’t words to say how the passing of a loved one feels so I will just say my thoughts are with his family and friends and his mom the most.
Love and light to all of you.
