HART Orrin

Orrin Hart passed away on December 13, 2013, at the Claresholm General Hospital, at age 90. He is survived by his beloved wife Margaret; his three sons William (Helma), John (Kerry) and Andrew (Ramona); his grandchildren Gelein, Alexander, James, Shannon, Monty, Nathan and Katie; his brother Raymond and sister-in-law Marion; his brother-in-law Bert and sister-in-law Pat; his brother-in-law Art Peters; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Orrin was born in the Meadow Creek District, southwest of Claresholm and attended Trout Creek School. He later attended Olds School of Agriculture. Following Olds College, he won a Nuffield Scholarship where he travelled and studied agriculture throughout Britain, where he met his wife Margaret. Orrin ranched in the Claresholm area his entire life, raising Purebred Angus Cattle for over seventy years. He served as President of the Alberta and Canadian Angus Associations as well as numerous other organizations, both locally and provincially. A memorial service will be held on Friday, December 20, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. at the Claresholm United Church with the Reverends Henry Friesen and Oliver Seward presiding. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Orrin’s name may be made to the Claresholm and District Health Foundation Box 2638, Claresholm, Alberta T0L 0T0.
