Leah passed away peacefully at the St. Michael’s Palliative Care Centre on Thursday, January 2nd, 2014 at the age of 53 years with Glen by her side. Left to mourn her passing are her beloved spouse Glen Thompson of Iron Springs, Alberta: his family, Son Greg (Debbie) and grandchildren Katherine, Andrew and Cody Thompson; Dad Merlin Thompson (Marg Hunt); Sisters Maxine (Carl) Johnson and Brenda (Rick) Stokes and their families. Leah’s Brother Raymond (Tiffany) Obalek; Nephew Dylan Obalek and Shawn Slasor of Grasmere, B.C.; Aunt Betty (Bill) Weber of Toronto, Uncle Joe Magdal of Vancouver; friend and partner at the Bohomolec Stables, Kent Rodger and many chosen sisters and friends in the equestrian world. Predeceased by her parents Raymond and Helen Obalek of Grasmere, B.C. A Celebration of Leah’s Life will be held at the COAST HOTEL & CONFERENCE CENTRE, 526 Mayor Magrath Drive South on Saturday, February 1st, 2014 at 3:30 P.M. Social to follow.
