MIKE (MIKEY) JOHN CARSWELL God has wrapped his arms around you and has taken you home, his wings have spread and Mike is now out of his pain and in peace. Mike passed away February 26, 2014 at the age of 39 years at St. Michael’s Palliative Care Unit. Mike is the beloved son of Bev and Dave Carswell and is survived by his sister Sherri Caldicott (Tony). Mike will be missed by his family members, Dixie Pratt, Ken Pratt, Wayne Carswell and niece (Victoria Caldicott) and nephew (Connor Caldicott). Mike was born April 3, 1974, much to his grandma’s delight with the shock of red hair! Throughout his life he was an avid gamer, an Edmonton Oilers fan, and loved his Coca-cola. Mike worked at Wal Mart for 10 years, where he made many good friends who supported him throughout his battle with cancer. Mike also loved playing pool Sunday nights at The Front Row Pub, where he made many friends. Mike was very well liked and loved by many. He inspired people and didn’t even know it. He showed us how to be strong and brave and how precious life can be. Memories of Mike will be held close to our hearts. We would like to thank all the Doctors and nurses at St. Michael’s Palliative Care who took such wonderful care of our son and brother. The Funeral Service will be held on Monday, March 3, 2014 at 1:00 p.m. at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, LETHBRIDGE NORTHSIDE CHAPEL, 2223-6 A. Avenue North, Lethbridge. Friends may meet the family prior to the service at the church from noon to 12:45 p.m. Interment to follow in the Mountain View Cemetery, Lethbridge.

  1. Shawn Patterson says:

Rest in peace Mike. I’ll never forget how you would make it a point to come see me at Canadian Tire just to say hi and talk a bit. Wouldn’t trade your friendship for the world. So thank you for the friendship you gave me. My thoughts and prayers are with your family at this difficult time. Heaven gained a wonderful person. Thank you Mike.
