Mrs. Stephanie Louise Lanham, beloved wife of the late Mr. William Ernest Lanham, of Lethbridge, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family at the Chinook Regional Hospital on Wednesday, March 12th, 2014 at the age of 89 years. She is lovingly remembered by her two daughters, Anita and Monica Lanham, granddaughters, Kayla and Kelsey Lanham as well as numerous nieces and nephews in Canada and Belgium. Mom was born in Heist-Op-Den-Berg, Belgium on May 1st, 1924 to Josephine and Alois Nauwelaerts. She grew up with five loving and caring brothers. On December 24th, 1945, Mom wed William at the end of the Second World War and came to Calgary as a war bride. Together they were blessed with two lovely daughters and later two incredible granddaughters. Mom was a devoted caregiver who loved everything about being a wife and mother. She always put her family first and brought joy to every day she was with us. Mom will always be remembered for her gentle heart, her love of home, her love of dogs and all animals and her sense of duty to her family. Mom, we cannot put into words our sense of loss, but we know you are in a better place and little Sassy watches the geese for you as they fly by daily. A Funeral Service will be held at ST. AUGUSTINE’S ANGLICAN CHURCH, 411 – 11th Street South, Lethbridge on Saturday, March 15, 2014 at 11:30 A.M. with Canon James P. Robinson officiating. Interment to follow at Mountain View Cemetery.
