With sorrow we announce that our dear mother, Oma, great Oma has exchanged time for eternity at the Claresholm General Hospital at the age of 82 years. Wife of late husband Hendrik (Hank) Van Hierden. She is survived by her seven children Gerrit (Janet), Ria (Ray) Vanee, Nancy (Walter) Van Den Broek, Henry (Shannon), Conrad (Rhonda), Harvey (Bernita), Jenny (Jake) Boot and son-in-law Frans (Sieneke) Feyter and daughter-in-law Tracey Van Hierden. She will be missed by her 39 grandchildren and 63 great- grandchildren. She is also survived by one sister, Riek Verburg (Holland), sisters-in-law Berta Van Esveld, Heintje Van Hierden, Henny Van Ee (all in Holland), and brothers-in-law Bill Van Santen (Fort Macleod), and Aart Vande Kieft (Holland). She was predeceased by her husband Hank (2000), daughter Stiena Feyter (2012), son Rick (1996), grandchildren Adrian Feyter (1975 )and Gerrit (2001), Rebecca (2004), and Randy (2004). Jantje was born in Barneveld District, Holland on November 1, 1931. She and Hank were married December 5, 1952. They immigrated to Canada in 1954 and settled in Fort Macleod. They first lived at the Wakelin Farm, purchased the Sheer dairy where they raised their family, then moved to Hill and Dale Ranch, and later settled in Fort Macleod where she resided until her passing. Mom was active in her church community and kept busy with her children and grandchildren. Her house was always open for all of us and she cherished family gatherings and celebrations. The funeral service will be held at 11:00 A.M on Wednesday, April 30, 2014 at the Netherland Reformed Church, 2608 7 Ave, Fort Macleod, AB., with Rev. H. den Hollander officiating. Condolences will be held between 7:00-8:30 on Tuesday, April 29, 2014 at Eden’s Funeral Home, 2424 5th Ave Fort Macleod, AB. There will also be an opportunity to join the family for a light lunch at 1:00 Wednesday, following the burial, at the Fort Macleod Community Hall. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made in Jenny’s name to the A.T. Children’s Project, Box 1958, Fort Macleod, AB, T0L 0Z0 or the Canadian Diabetes Association. “Trust ye in the Lord forever, for in the Lord Jehovah is everlasting strength.” Isaiah 26:4
