David F. Wilson of Barons, beloved husband of the late Helene Wilson, passed away at Claresholm on April 29, 2014 at the age of 90 years. David was predeceased by his wife Helene in ’99, infant son Dougie, siblings Elgin, Olga, Edwin, Wilma; twin Mary and son-in-law Bob. He is survived his children Rae (Gail), Ann, Janice (Ron) and Kathy; grandchildren Ryan (Kristy), Michelle (Ryley), Shawn (Kelsey), Kristina, Bryan and Katelyn; three great-grandsons; sister Pearl Hurd; in-laws Doreen Wilson, Georges and Helen duBerger; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Dad was raised on the Manyberries homestead, in ’28 the family moved to Iron Springs. David joined the Airforce and married Helene duBerger in ‘48. They moved 28 times for his military career, then eventually retiring to Barons in ’73. He worked various jobs until retirement. He belonged to the Elks, Life member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Barons Senior Centre and served on the village’s council for years. Where ever Dave resided he planted trees, volunteered for many years, helped those in need and left places better than when he found them. A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 A.M., on Wednesday, May 7, 2014 at MARTIN BROS RIVERVIEW CHAPEL, 610-4th St. S., Lethbridge, AB.
