ORCUTT Maude

MAUDE ORCUTT, beloved wife of Lloyd Orcutt of Lethbridge, passed away at St. Michael’s Care Centre on Tuesday, July 22, 2014 at the age of 90 years. She leaves to mourn her loving and dedicated husband Lloyd Orcutt after 71 years of marriage, son Darrel (Dana) of Coaldale, AB, daughters Colleen (Ernie) Boucher of the Crowsnest Pass, AB, Shelley (George) Goertzen of Crossfield, AB, Patti Wright (partner Gord) of Slocan, BC. She also had six grandchildren Russel (Lisa) Orcutt, Megan (Tony) Curtis, Shanda (Kent) Strandquist, Kara (Dean) Civitarese, Nadawn (Dwayne) Fehr, Darry (Blaga) Goertzen, 14 great grandchildren: Brody and Mackenzie Curtis, Colton Talbot, Braydon, Cody and Londyn Strandquist, Chase and Zoe Civitarese, Calvin and Riley Fehr, Coleman, Ariana, Brianna and Tatiana Goertzen. Mom is survived by her brother Lloyd (Marg) Currie of Lethbridge. She was pre-deceased by her parents Neil and Maggie Currie, brother Walter (Rita) Currie, sister Luella (Fred) Karren, sister-in-law Ethel Currie, in-laws Harry and Flo Orcutt, sister-in-laws May (Orville) Webb and Pearl (Les) Cunningham and a baby boy at birth Gregory Lloyd Orcutt. She was a loving mother and friend to all. Her love for baking, sewing, knitting, cards and travel was enjoyed over the years. Arizona winters were always a highlight socializing with friends and family. She loved showing the grandchildren baking, knitting and card games. She travelled often to see her children living in Crowsnest Pass, AB, Abbotsford, BC, Slocan, BC and of course Coaldale, AB. Mom was a life member of the Pythian Sisters in Coaldale, AB and the 4 C’s club in Chin, AB. Mom was a tremendous farm wife who delivered many a meal to the field during seeding and harvesting season. A Private Family Service was held at CORNERSTONE FUNERAL HOME, 2800 Mayor Magrath Drive South, Lethbridge, AB on Thursday, July 24, 2014 at 1:00 P.M. with Reverend Bob Wallace, Officiant. Inurnment preceded the service at Mountain View Cemetery. The family would like to express their sincere appreciation to the staff at St. Michael\’s Health Centre for their compassion and care, as well as to the numerous friends that made the time to visit with Mom, Thank you.
