Mr. Ralph Andrew Nicholauson of Lethbridge, beloved husband of Mrs. Helen Nicholauson, passed away on Friday, August 8, 2014 at the age of 70 years. Ralph was born on June 2, 1944 in the town of Esterhazy, SK to Hugo and Mary Nicholauson. He was the only brother to three sisters Lorraine (Peter) Nickel, Valerie (Richard) Koenig, and youngest Sharon. Ralph moved with his family to Taber in 1957 and then Coaldale where he met the love of his life, Helen. They married in the summer of 1966 and laid down their own roots in Lethbridge. Ralph and Helen had two children he adored and cherished, Shelley (Terry) Carter and Jason (Erin) Nicholauson and two beautiful grandchildren whom he treasured, Marshall and Blake Carter. Ralph started working in the concrete and gravel business in 1969 as a heavy equipment operator for then, Lethbridge Concrete Products, now Lafarge for nearly 40 years. Ralph enjoyed music and was able to learn and play several instruments entirely by ear and could make an accordion or organ come alive. He also loved to fish and enjoyed spending time surrounded by the beauty of the Crowsnest Pass, but he loved nothing more than to spend time with his wife and family. Ralph is survived by his wife, children, grandchildren, sisters, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, aunts, uncles and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by both of his parents.
