1926 ~ 2014
Mrs. Joy Eileen Laczo of Lethbridge, beloved wife of the late Mr. Emerick (Amos) Laczo, passed away on November 11, 2014 at the age of 87 years. Joy was born on December 24, 1926, the only daughter of Carl & Rosella Stettner. Her father always said that Joy was the perfect name, as she brought joy to him and anyone who knew her. Joys first years of schooling were at the Black Spring Ridge one room school. She rode a horse to attend school those years, then finished her schooling at Carmangay. Joy lived on her fathers farm until she married Amos, and moved a whole _ miles. She helped her husband every day with the farm chores. Joy loved to curl, get together with friends to play cards, and she loved music. She participated for many years in Barn Dance and was asked by many to sing at weddings and funerals. She was a long term member of the Priscilla Club. In her later years, she and Amos loved to travel, especially bus tours where they made many new friends. After the passing of Amos, Joy moved to the Sierra Condos in Lethbridge where she resided for 6 years. Again making many new friends, which she always was good at. Her optimism and sometimes mischievous personality will be greatly missed by all who knew her. Family & friends are invited to pay their respects between 6:00pm and 7:00pm on Sunday, November 16, 2014 at MARTIN BROTHERS RIVERVIEW CHAPEL, 610-4 St. S., Lethbridge, AB, T1J 4P3. A Graveside Service will be held at 1:00pm on Monday, November 17, 2014 at BOWVILLE CEMETERY, Picture Butte, AB, with Pastor Al Litchfield, officiating. Send condolences at www.mbfunerals.com.
