LONG Eileen

Posted: December 17th, 2014

Jan. 11, 1928 – Nov. 10, 2014
It is with deep sorrow and much sadness to announce the passing of a dear wife, mother and grand-mother who slipped away peacefully with gentle care at the Chinook Regional Hospital in Lethbridge, Alberta. Besides Jim, her loving husband and best friend of 64 years, Eileen is survived by her daughter Sharon (Dale) Kanashiro, grandson Ryan, and son Mark (Helena Kuzminski-Vedres) Long, step-granddaughter Fayla Vedres (Cam), sister-in-law Eleanor Ziebarth and her children Robert and (son) Andrew, Diane (Bill), and Craig (Angelo). Eileen was predeceased by her eldest son, Christopher, in 2011. Eileen\’s devotion for her church had extended over 40 years as a member of the Sanctuary Guild. Her passion motivated her to include Sunday school teachings all while effortlessly raising 3 children. Her faithful ardor to family and God radiated in all she did. Eileen will be greatly missed for her gentle spirit and her kind, softhearted approach to life. Our family would like to take this time in giving our sincerest gratitude to the staff of St. Therese Villa for their commendable care and a special thanks to Dr. E. Jansen, the medical staff at Family Medical Clinic and all attending doctors and nurses on Unit 3C for their assistance and tremendous support. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Eileen\’s memory to the St. Augustine Church Endowment Fund, 405-11 St. South, Lethbridge, Alberta T1J 2N9. A Memorial Service will be held at ST. AUGUSTINE\’S CHURCH, 405-11 Street South, Lethbridge, Alberta, on Friday, December 19, 2014 at 1:00 P.M. with Reverend Canon James Robinson officiating and assisted by Reverend Andrew Horne.
