JOSEPHUS CORNELIS \”CASEY\” SCHEURKOGEL, beloved husband of Adriana J. \”Jane\” Scheurkogel of Lethbridge, passed away peacefully with family by his side at the St. Michael\’s Health Centre, on Wednesday, December 10th, 2014, at the age of 87 years. Besides his loving wife, he is survived by his three children, Dick (Marj) Scheurkogel of Lethbridge, Casey (Donna) Scheurkogel of Coaldale and Judy (Clarence) Slomp of Lethbridge, nine grandchildren, Kenneth Scheurkogel, Phillip Scheurkogel, Jordan (Jenna) Slomp, Daniel (Kim) Scheurkogel, Michael Scheurkogel, Jeffrey (Jessica) Scheurkogel, Alexander Slomp, Allison (Tim) Van der Woerd and Christopher (Lacey) Slomp, and 12 great grandchildren, Abigail, Liam and Grace Scheurkogel, Travis and Megan Scheurkogel, Parker, Mason and Chase Slomp, and Sophia, Noah, Emma and Zachariah Scheurkogel. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews in Canada and Holland. He was predeceased by infant twin daughters Josina and Ingrid, one granddaughter, Kathryn, three brothers and three sisters and their spouses. Every day of his long life, Casey knew the love and care of his faithful Saviour, Jesus Christ. He devoted his work, skills, and artistic talents to the service of God, his family, and many others. Right to the end, Casey shared his firm conviction that he was never out of God’s hands for a single moment. He professed a longing to go home to heaven to be with Jesus, where he is now — forever safe, forever blessed. "Though you have not seen him, you love him; and even though you do not see him now, you believe in him and are filled with an inexpressible and glorious joy, " 1 Peter 1:8. Relatives and Friends are invited to meet with the family at CORNERSTONE FUNERAL HOME, 2800 Mayor Magrath Drive South, Lethbridge on Monday, December 15, 2014, from 7 – 8 P.M. A Memorial Service will be held at TRINITY REFORMED CHURCH, 1100-40th Avenue North, Lethbridge on Tuesday, December 16, 2014, at 1:00 P.M. with Reverend Wybren Oord officiating.
