JOYCE DEANNA (Baby Joyce) DAY RIDER passed away in Cardston on December 23, 2014. She was born on November 30, 1970 to Agnes Day Rider & Wilfred (Ike) Chief Moon along with her twin Janice Day Rider who was born first. Joyce is survived by her beloved husband of 28 years, Michael Mountain Horse; 4 children – Tabitha, Renae (Blake), Miley, Aliyah; grandson Cachis; brothers Wilfred and Brian Day Rider; sisters Carol (Bruce), Cindy (Wesley, twin Janice (Frank), Patty Crying Head; uncle Gilbert Day Rider; aunts Bertha and Virginia Chief Moon; great uncles John, Ed (Elaine), Jordan (Rosette), Daniel (Priscilla), Keith (Karen) Chief Moon, Raymond (Hazel) Black Plume; great aunties Janette Bear and Lucy Black Plume; numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her maternal grandparents Irene & Albert Day Rider; great grandparents Bob & Suzette Black Plume; paternal grandparents Dan & Philomena Chief Moon. Joyce was raised in the Levern area with her many cousins from the Black Plume’s and Chief Moon relatives. She attended school at the Levern Elementary School, St. Mary’s and Red Crow College. She later worked at the Bay Shore Inn in Waterton Lakes Park and for the Chateau Isabella southwest of Cardston. A Wake Service will be held at the Moses Lake Community Hall, Blood Reserve on Sunday, January 4th from 7:00 to 11:00 p.m. The Funeral Service will be held at the Moses Lake Community Hall, Blood Reserve on Monday, January 5th at 11:00 a.m. Interment in the Pioneer Cemetery, Blood Reserve.
