PIONTEK Marion

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of MARION \”CURLY\” PIONTEK, of Lethbridge, on Sunday, January 4th, 2015 at the age of 86 years. He is survived by his wife Doreen of 33 years and her children, Alan (Lynne) Harrold of Coaldale, Doug (Nina) of Lethbridge, Glen (Karen) of Red Deer, Keith (Barb) of Lethbridge and Dale of Edmonton as well as 13 grandchildren and four great grandchildren. Curly also leaves behind his wife from his first marriage of 17 years Donna Bryam, and their children; Roxanne (Dwight) Coughlin of Rimbey, Ab, Diane Burla of Lethbridge, Brad (Patti) Piontek of Kelowna, B.C., four grandchildren, six great grandchildren. Curly is survived by his sister Jayne Stabb of Lethbridge, and brother Stan Piontek of Vancouver, B.C. He is predeceased by his parents, Helen and Steve Piontek and sister Sofie. Curly was born and raised in Lethbridge, Ab after his parents immigrated from Poland in 1927. He did various jobs in his younger years until he gained full time employment with Canadian Freightways for 18 years which brought him into retirement. Curly enjoyed camping, fishing, and afternoon trips to the casino. A Visitation will be held at CORNERSTONE FUNERAL HOME – 2800 Mayor Magrath Drive South, Lethbridge, Ab from 9:00 A.M. to 10:00 A.M. on Saturday, January 10, 2015. The Funeral Service will be held at 10:00 A.M. with Pastor Glenda Wert officiating. Interment to follow at Mountain View Cemetery.
