1957 ~ 2015
(the man with a heart of gold)
Mr. Rick Wood of Lethbridge, passed away on January 2, 2015 at the age of 57 years. Rick was born in Lethbridge on October 17, 1957. He went to school in Lethbridge, then attended the University of Lethbridge where he received a degree in management. After graduating from the University, he worked at Triple M Housing until his passing. Rick was a good hearted man with a great sense of humour who enjoyed spending time with family & friends. He cherished his job, and his co-workers were an extension of his family. Rick had a true love for all animals, especially dogs; his beloved Echo always by his side. Rick was a proud Uncle who loved his nieces and nephews, supporting them in all of their endeavors. They have many fond memories of him making them laugh and knowing that he was always there; never missing a game, recital, or any other events — with a toonie in hand. Rick will be sadly missed by all who knew him. He was a very special man that gave and loved unconditionally. He is survived by his parents Joe and Ann Wood. His brother Garnett (Shannon) Wood and their children , Jaimee and Brittyn; brother Rob (Gail) Wood and their children Thane, Brittney, and Hailey; sister T.J (Ryan) Loo and their children Madyson and R.J; and his beloved dog, Echo. At Rick’s request, there will be no funeral. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Jack Ady Cancer Centre, 1A 129, 960-19th St. S., Lethbridge, AB, T1J 1W5 or the Humane Society, 2920 16 Ave N, Lethbridge, AB T1H 5E9. Ann, Joe and Family,

It is with profound sadness that we have learned of Rick’s passing.

Rick was a friend to all.

We have fond memories of the various camping and road trips that we had with Rick over the years, along with all the other activities we were involved in with Rick.

I wish there was something we could say or do that would ease your grief.

Rick was too young to leave this world and we will miss him.
