HILDA LORRAINE ZOETEMAN, beloved wife of the late John Zoeteman, passed away peacefully at home on Thursday, January 1st, 2015 at the age of 84 years. She is survived by her sister Jan Van Camp of Seattle, WA, her son Len (Ingrid) of Calgary with grandchildren Jonathan and Matthew, and her son Wayne (Janice) of Pearce with grandchildren Lindsay, Joshua, Allyssa. Hilda was raised on the homestead farm in Nobleford, surrounded by large extended families rich in love and hospitality that profoundly shaped her life. She received secretarial training at Mount Royal College in Calgary and returned to her family and friends where she was engaged and later married to John Zoeteman on December 5, 1952. They built their lives, family, and service to the community from the family homestead at Pearce, Alberta where they resided until 1996 when they moved to Lethbridge. Over the years Hilda and John developed a large and lasting circle of deeply valued relationships with family and friends throughout the region through their extensive involvement in municipal government, community activities, and church life. Hilda loved people unconditionally, had a special gift of hospitality, and was a true, faithful friend. She cherished the farm life, her flowers and garden, and the constant flow of visiting company throughout the years. She loved her family and treasured her dear friends. Her grandchildren were her pride and joy, and were continual recipients of her prayers. She enjoyed being a true lady and expressed herself through a variety of creative artistic expressions. Hilda will be forever remembered as a deeply courageous woman who selflessly faced the illness of her husband John, as well as her own health challenges without complaining. She lived as an ambassador of love and encouragement, unconditionally extending the fruit of kindness to everyone she knew. She truly fulfilled her days here on earth. Hilda will be deeply missed and fondly remembered as she now graduates to join those she dearly loves in heaven.
