THOMSON Sheri

Posted: January 27th, 2015

It is with heavy hearts and unthinkable sorrow that we announce the unexpected passing of SHERI THOMSON on January 20, 2015. Sheri was deeply cherished by her parents, Barbara and Barry McFadden, her children, Ashley and Justin Thomson, her brother Jon McFadden and lots of family and close friends. We are blessed to have shared a million beautiful moments, made vibrant by her joyful spirit, her kind heart, and her easy smile. She will be missed more than words can ever say. Sheri was born and raised in Lethbridge and was very involved in the community. She was a talented actress who performed with Lethbridge Musical Theatre, Playgoers, and at the U of L. As Program Director of the Conservatory of Performing Arts, she prepared many young students to compete in the Kiwanis Music and Speech Arts Festival, and also taught Public Speaking at LCC. Never one to shy away from a new challenge, Sheri changed careers in mid-life and joined the family business, eventually becoming General Manager of McFadden Honda as a respected businesswoman. Sheri worked hard and played harder. Whether it was dancing barefoot in the grass at summer folk festivals, walking with her dogs in the coulees (no matter what the weather,) tending her flower garden or traveling the world, she seized every moment with boundless energy, child-like curiosity, and pure joie de vivre. Sheri spent her final days in Cuba on a dive trip with close friends and passed away suddenly in her quarters of natural causes. A Celebration of Life will be held on February 5th at 1:00pm at the Evangelical Free Church, 4717 – 24 Avenue South, Lethbridge, with Pastor Ian Lawson officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Doctors Without Borders (www.msf.ca ).

Dear Mr. and Mrs. McFadden, Ashley, Justin and Jon

We are deeply saddened to hear of Sheri passing.

We were good friends with Sheri when we all lived in Calgary. Regrettably we lost touch when we moved to B.C. However we often talked about her and the many good times we had together.

Our deepest condolences to your family – a life lost far to early.

Barry, Barb, Jon, Ashley, and Justin I am so sorry and shocked to learn of Sheri’s passing. It has been quite a few years since I saw Sheri but I always remember her as an outgoing, fun and cheerful person. It always brings a smile to my face when I watch my families old home movies of Sheri and I when we were probably only 4 or 5 years old. I am deeply saddened for your lost and my thoughts and prayers are with you all.

I first met Sheri during her early LMT years, when she played the lead role in Pajama Game. She sparkled both on stage and off and was an outstanding role model for everyone in the cast. There is one more brilliant star in the sky tonight. My heartfelt sympathy to the McFaddens and Thomsons. So very sorry for your loss.
