TOLLEY Beatrice

The family of Beatrice Tolley is saddened to announce her peaceful and sudden passing from this life on Tuesday, December 30, 2014 at Cardston, Alberta. Beatrice is predeceased by her husband Ilo, who passed away in May 2005 and her grandson Aaron. She is survived by daughter Judy Erickson (Royden) of Mountain View and Paul Tolley (Pamela) of Calgary, as well as numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Beatrice was born in Toronto, Ontario on November 19, 1925, the only child of Albert and Ethel Livsey. Beatrice grew up in and around the Toronto area in the midst of loving aunts, uncles and cousins. Her life changed forever when she met a young airman at a dance in Toronto on June 5, 1943. She and Ilo were immediately attracted to each other and kept in close contact even through Ilo’s military postings to many different locations. They were married on September 20, 1944. Following the conclusion of Ilo’s military service they settled in Mountain View where Ilo engaged in ranching and Beatrice became an extraordinary mother and homemaker. They eventually settled on property located at the north end of Payne Lake west of Mountain View and ran a successful ranching operation for some 45 years. It was during these years that Beatrice became the office manager of Simmental Breeders Cardston Ltd. and worked in that capacity for many years. Beatrice was a kind, generous and loving woman who was devoted to church and family. Throughout her life she held various callings in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and in 1999 she and Ilo served a mission to the Toronto Ontario Temple. Beatrice had a great love for her family and always rejoiced at being part of family events and celebrations. She loved her family and it showed in her efforts to acknowledge birthdays, graduations and other significant events. She will be remembered as a kind and generous women who had great compassion for those in need. No one ever left her home with an empty stomach or an aching heart. She will forever hold a special and sacred place in our hearts. Special thanks go to the staff at Lee Crest Care Centre and to Dr. Brian Low for your thoughtful care of our mother. The Funeral Service will be held at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Mountain View, Alberta on Saturday, January 3rd at 11:00 a.m.. Friends may meet the family at the Church from 10:00 to 10:45 a.m. prior to the Service. Interment in the Mountain View Cemetery. Email your condolences to: legacycardston@gmail.com
