COOK

Ronald Wesley Cook, 82, of Lethbridge, Alberta passed away quietly in his sleep Saturday April 25, 2015.

He is predeceased by his parents Robert Wesley and Nora (Flavelle), his wife of 57 years, Carol (Leach) in January 2015, a daughter Leslie in 1979 and a brother Robert in 2005.

Ron is survived by his 3 children, Michelle, Patti (Harold) and Mark; his grandchildren: Brad (Roza), Ryan (Erin, Layton, Brad), Shannon, Jacob and Adam; his sister Barbara (Keith) McCallum of London Ontario and his brother Ross (Denise) Cook of Sarnia, Ontario; a sister-in-law, Dorothy (Bob) Cook, brother-in-law Barry (Patty) Leach, sister-in-law Nonny (Colin) Leach as well as many nieces and nephews.

Born in Toronto Ontario, Ron’s family moved to Sarnia, Ontario in 1940 and as a young man Ron fell in love with the “wild west” and vowed that he would settle there some day. Ron always fancied himself as another Grizzly Adams so it was no surprise when he fulfilled that wish in 1978 and settled in Lethbridge Alberta where he set up house for his family who followed him out in 1979. Ron and Carol had many adventures throughout the Rocky Mountains, Alberta and Montana over the years with their favourite haunts being Beaver Mines and Waterton Park.

Among his many talents, Ron was a gifted woodworker. He crafted many “Woodthings by Cook”, gutted and renovated travel trailers as well as working in the construction industry for a living.

Ronald was a huge fan of Walt Disney and all his Animations and had his hand in duplicating many of his characters over the years. You could always find Ron watching one of his Disney favorites on the telly on any given day.

Ron will be greatly missed.

A Memorial Service will be held Wednesday, May 6, 2015 at the NEW APOSTOLIC CHURCH, 115 Mt. Blakiston Road West, Lethbridge at 11:00 a.m.
