SHUFLETOSKI

Marie Jean Shufletoski (nee Rittinger) of Medicine Hat passed away on Friday, May 1, 2015, at the age of 86 years. Marie was the beloved wife of Henry Shufletoski of Medicine Hat. She leaves to cherish her memory one brother Bob (Evanzia) Rittinger of Pincher Creek, one sister Ethel (Eric) Nielsen of Calgary, a half sister Vivian Wallace of Swift Current and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents, Christina and David Rittinger and twelve siblings. Marie was born on July 8, 1928 in Eastend, Saskatchewan. After completing school, Marie married Henry Shufletoski on March 8, 1949; they were together for 66 years. The Shufletoskis ranched for many years near Maple Creek where Marie actively participated in operating all the machinery and laboring in all the duties a mixed farming operation demanded. Marie and Henry sold their farm and moved to Pincher Creek where Marie owned and operated a ladies clothing store. They moved again to the Fort McLeod area, then to Lethbridge.

In later years Marie and Henry moved to Seven Persons before finally settling in Medicine Hat to be nearer to nieces, nephews and old friends. Henry and Marie remembered with great fondness their once in a lifetime trip to Fiji, New Zealand and Australia as well as some winter months spent in Arizona. Marie loved to garden, golf, crochet and care for her dog, Tuffy. To honour of Marie’s wishes, no funeral service will be held.
