Raymond (Ray) Waddle

1963 – 2015

Mr. Raymond (Ray) Waddle, passed away at his home in Lethbridge, Alberta, on Wednesday, July 8, 2015 at the age of 51 years.

Raymond will be forever remembered by his family, his mother Myrna Waddle; siblings Cindy Holoboff (Kevin Sorensen) and Family, Carolyn Waddle (Keith Gertzen), Randy (Cheryl) and family, Auntie Pat Waddle; as well as many nieces and nephews, cousins, and of course many friends, colleagues and work associates.

He was predeceased by his father Ken Waddle; Brother Kevin Waddle; grandparents Glen A. and Marie Waddle, Clarence and Daisy Bergquist.

Raymond was born August 13, 1963 at the Taber Hospital, the son of Myrna and Ken Waddle. He was raised in the Circle Hill area and attended school in Vauxhall, Class of 1981. Raymond worked various jobs and helped out at the farm over the years and then he went to school in Olds, AB and graduated Class of ’91 with honors for a horticulturist. In 1991, Raymond moved back to Lethbridge where he got his dream career with the City of Lethbridge Parks Department as the Special Events Gardener. Raymond, being an avid gardener, gave his passion for his job, receiving numerous nominations and awards for employee of the month and his work could be seen on the Brewery Hill and across the city…wherever there was a flower; that was Raymond’s work.

Raymond’s career extended to his personal life, making every holiday a special event for his family and friends; cooking, decorating, and sharing everything he could. He enjoyed cooking, camping, fishing and reading.

A Memorial service will be held at 2:00pm, Wednesday, July 15, 2015, at MARTIN BROTHERS RIVERVIEW CHAPEL, 610-4th St. S. Lethbridge, AB.

If friends so desire, memorial tributes in Raymond’s name may be made to the charity Vauxhall Legion Branch #193 Ladies Auxiliary, Box 125, Vauxhall, AB T0K 2K0, or the Heart and Stroke Foundation, Box 2211, Lethbridge, AB, T1J 4K7.

    So sorry to hear of the sudden passing of Ray. His laughter and presence will be sadly missed. Sorry to hear of this at such a late time, however our thoughts and prayers will be with Myrna and the Waddle family. May God be with the family and help you through this trying time as well.
