It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Betty Jean Doenz, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend at the age of 87. Betty passed on August 7, 2015. Betty was predeceased by her loving husband Jim of 58 years, son Bruce, daughter-in-law Nadine, her parents, and brother Lee. Betty is survived by her daughter-in-law Laura-Marie and her 3 children Adam (Becky) their daughter Locklyn, Blake, and Janay (Jared); son Murray and his 2 children Melissa (Byron) their 3 children Garrett, Lauren and Nolan and Colin (Niki); son Monte (Laura) and their daughter Casey; and son Evan. Betty was born in Magrath on September 28, 1927 to George Dallas and Dagmar Minion joining one sibling Joyce and later Bonnie and Lee. The family moved to Warner in 1945 where Betty met Jim and were married on June 19, 1948. Betty was a devoted wife and partner who loved her family, friends and life. It gave her great pleasure to help grow the farm and raise her family. Betty’s uncomplaining and calm demeanor were what was required to raise 4 boys and care for Dad even while suffering from arthritis most of her life. She was proud of her family, home and community. Grandma Betty as she was affectionately called, loved being a grandma and cherished her grandchildren, living close by her on the farm. She loved to visit with friends in her home. Betty and Jim especially enjoyed travelling to Switzerland, Australia and many trips with friends and relatives. Winters spent in Arizona visiting with friends and relaxing, was always considered a special time A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 pm, on Wednesday, August 12, 2015 at the WARNER EVANGELICAL CHURCH FELLOWSHIP, with Pastor Jason Carrol officiating. An interment will be held at 1:00pm prior to the service at the Warner Cemetery, for family and close friends. Flowers are gratefully declined.
