Gladys J. Sawdon (Nee Thomas)

1932 – 2015

A dear sweet lady and loving mother passed away peacefully at Park Meadows Village on August 3, 2015, at the age of 83 years.

Gladys is survived by her son Russ; daughter Rita (James) Ager; sister E. Susie (Phil) Leier; nieces, nephews and her friends. She was predeceased by her son Vincent (1980) and her brothers Gordon and Frank Thomas.

Gladys will be remembered for her loving spirit, sense of humor, and the ability to remain independent while overcoming the challenges and obstacles that life can often present along the way.

Gladys moved to Vancouver in the 1960’s where she raised her family and enjoyed living on the west coast. Returning to Lethbridge to spend and enjoy her senior years, a very kind cab driver introduced her to another single senior, Clarence Carlson, who would become the love of her life. They remained inseparable until Clarence passed away in 2011. Our family sends a special thank you to her friend Beverley Kaltenbruner and her family for their kindness and support of Gladys over the years, and also to the wonderful staff at Pemmican Lodge and Park Meadows for their ongoing care and assistance.

A viewing was held on Friday, August 7, 2015 at MARTIN BROTHERS RIVERVIEW CHAPEL.

In lieu of flowers or donations, please spend time with someone you love. In honor of Gladys, please have dessert first tonight. Rest in peace mom.
