PALMER

VALERIE CAROL HARRIS PALMER, passed away in Lethbridge on Friday, August 14, 2015 at the age of 71 years.

Valerie was born February 11, 1944 to Bert Powell Powelson and Alice Priscilla Card. She graduated from the Galt School of Nursing in 1975 and served as an RN for most of her life, until she retired in 2009. She met and married Arnold L Harris in 1966 and they raised 8 children during their 29 years of marriage before Arnold passed in 1995. She met and married Donald K Palmer in 1998.

Val’s passions were Temple work, gardening, music, reading, and serving others. Many lives were touched by her sweet and uplifting words and endless service. She was dedicated to her family and Church all of her life. One of Don and Val’s favorite pastimes was traveling around the world and serving in various temples, which they did often.

Family members loving and missing her dearly are her husband, Donald, sons and daughters Travis (Leslie), Carrie (Don), Jeremy (Marie), Byron, Eli (Tine), Clinton (Kristen), Mindy (Derek), Heather (Brad), step- daughters Patty (Doug), Diana (Rick) Wendy (Mark), Sharon (Randy), Sister Rita (Darrell), Brothers Gordon (Mona) and Max (Rae). Val was the proud grandmother of 30 grandchildren. She also loved 20 step- grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

Val has now been reunited with loved ones who passed before her including her Eternal companion, Arnold L Harris, a son, Trevor Dee, her parents, and grandparents.

Friends may meet the family at the LEGACY FUNERAL HOME on Monday, August 17th, from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m. or at the Church from 10:00 to 10:45 a.m. prior to the service.

The Funeral Service will be held at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, CARDSTON ALBERTA WEST STAKE CENTER (Waterton Hi-way) on Tuesday, August 18th at 11:00 a.m. Interment to follow in the Temple Hill Cemetery, Raymond, Alberta. Condolences may be sent to: www.legacyfuneralhome.ca
