HOPP

Passed away in Lethbridge on Tuesday, September 1, 2015, MRS. JANICE EDITH HOPP, at the age of 73 years, beloved wife of John Grant Hopp of Lethbridge.

Born on March 17, 1942, Janice was raised and educated in Lethbridge, where she graduated from the Galt School of Nursing in 1963. She was married to Grant on November 2nd of the same year. Janice was employed as a Registered Nurse for over 30 years, working in the Municipal Hospital and later moving to the new Lethbridge Regional Hospital where she worked until her retirement.

Janice was an active member of the Galt School of Nursing Alumnae and very much enjoyed participating in alumnae projects and connecting with her former classmates and colleagues over the years, keeping the memory of the Galt School of Nursing alive.

Following her retirement, Janice continued being a caregiver, always offering a helping hand to her friends and neighbours who were so special to her. She loved working in her yard and especially enjoyed the beautiful roses in her garden. Janice also loved her pets and was particularly fond of her Boston Terriers over the years.

Besides her husband, Grant, Janice will be dearly missed and forever remembered by her daughters, Bev Hopp and Dianne (Richard) Kurina of Lethbridge; her identical twin sister Joan Peters, of Chilliwack, B.C.; as well as some special cousins.

She was predeceased by her parents, Arthur Roland Day and Doris Edith Day (nee Frayne) and also by her beloved sister, Adrienne Day.

At Janice’s request, there will be no formal funeral service. A private family Graveside Service was held. Those who wish may donate in loving memory of Janice to the Galt School of Nursing Alumnae, c/o Paulette Low, 1710 – 17 Avenue South, Lethbridge, AB, T1K 1A8 or to a charity holding special meaning in their heart.

  1. Cinda reid says:

I was so sorry to learn of Janice’s passing. What a lovely woman she was, and I treasure the kindness you both showed Bob when you took him for a drive in the Olds. You made him smile in a way that touched my heart.
