FREDRICK

It is with heavy hearts the family of SHARON ARLENE FREDRICK announces her passing on Wednesday, September 16th, 2015, at 72 years of age after a brief but valiant battle with cancer.

Sharon was born July 19th, 1943 to Ivan and Florence Livingston in Coutts, Alberta, the youngest of four children. Sharon lived with her family in Coutts until the age of 15, when the family moved into Lethbridge. She then met Bill and they were soon married. They shared married life together for fifty-five years. Together, they raised two beautiful daughters and became the proud and devoted grandparents of six grandchildren, great-grandparents of one.

Sharon’s pride and joy lay in her children and her grandchildren. Nothing brought her more happiness than knowing all her ‘kids’ were happy, safe and content. She spent countless hours with her grandchildren, watching piano and swimming lessons, Tae-Kwon Do, soccer and hockey games, attending school events. Sharon enjoyed baking for her family and teaching others her favorite recipes. Favorites included cabbage rolls, brownies and butter-horns. Sharon was also an avid reader, crocheter, knitter, and volunteer – involved with bingo and the Eagles.

She will be profoundly missed by her family – husband Bill; daughters Penny and Susan; sons-in-law Larry and Mike (she had a special place in her heart for her sons-in-law); grandchildren Casey (Chris), Nikki (Bren), Travis (Chloe) (there was also great pride in her grandchildren-in-law), Kyra, Logan, Matthew; great-grandchild Newton; sister Mardell (Bob), brother Ronald (Margaret); special friend Truda; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Sharon was predeceased by her infant daughter, Shannon Laree; her parents Ivan and Florence; and her brother Marvin – all of whom we are sure she is happily reunited with already.

The family would like to extend a deep and sincere thank you to Dr. Witharana and the Nurses of St. Michael’s Health Centre, who were so very kind and good to mom throughout her stay with them. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation in Sharon’s name to St. Michael’s Health Centre – Palliative Care Unit, 1400 9th Avenue South, Lethbridge, Alberta, T1J – 4V5.

A Funeral Service will be held at IMMANUEL LUTHERAN CHURCH, 20 Rocky Mountain Blvd. West, Lethbridge, on Monday, September 21st, 2015 at 12:00 P.M., with a reception to follow.

Please respect the family wishes for a scent-free service, due to asthma & allergies. Refrain from perfumes/colognes, hairsprays, etc.

Leave a Condolence
