VOGT

PAUL VOGT, beloved husband of Alice Vogt (née Jetz) of Lethbridge, passed away at Chinook Regional Hospital on October 15, 2015 at the age of 84 years.

He is also the loving father of George (Candius) Vogt, Nanaimo, B.C.; Barbara Laqua, Lethbridge; and Rob Vogt, Claresholm; grandfather of Jessica (Jeff) Stubbs, Herbert, Saskatchewan; James Vogt, Nanaimo; Chelsea (Shadow) Elliott-Pohl, Swift Current; and Megan Laqua, Lethbridge; and great-grandfather of Sawyer Stubbs, Herbert.

He is also survived by sisters Irmgard (Martin) Wiesner; Maria Koenig; Barbara (Joseph) Ginter; and Monica Huculak, and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his parents Max and Anna Vogt; sister Clara Vogt; and brother Bernard Vogt.

He was born in Kleinpogel, Germany and immigrated to Picture Butte in 1954. In 1956 he met Alice Jetz, and they were married January 31, 1959. They moved to the Coaldale area in 1964, and continued to farm there together until 1991 when they retired into Lethbridge.

Paul loved to talk about politics, read, go for walks, work in his yard, and watch his game shows, particularly The Price Is Right.

The Funeral Service will be held at CHRISTENSEN SALMON GENERATIONS FUNERAL HOME, 703 – 13th Street North, Lethbridge on Monday, October 19, 2015 at 11 a.m. with Deacon Frank Peta officiating.

Interment will follow at Mountain View Cemetery, Lethbridge.

Donations may be made in lieu of flowers to the Chinook Regional Hospital Foundation or the Kidney Foundation of Canada.

    This big confident man, my Uncle Paul, used to terrify me!
    I remember visiting you all on your farm, and you on ours growing up.
    With happy childhood memories, and recognition of a sad loss,
    I send my condolences.

    I remember Mr. Vogt on the farm, he was always a stern man it seemed. I would stay over and visit his son Rob, my best friend. Mr. Vogt always had something interesting it seemed and we were sort of related as his dog and mine had a few babies lol. I will always have fond memories of him and am sorry to see him go. All the best to his family.
