Pieter Reurink
1940 – 2015
Pieter Reurink, loving husband and best friend of Lorna (nee Mellow), passed away peacefully on November 25, 2015 in Lethbridge, Alberta. He is survived by his sons Shannon (Bernice), Troy (Trina), Kevin (Candace) and Layne and his grandchildren Lane, Sheldon, Austyn, Brant, Niesje, Emma and Ashlyn.
Pete was born December 8, 1940 in Dedemsvaart, Netherlands to Jan and Elizabeth Reurink; the family of 13 immigrated to Canada in February, 1952. Pete married the love of his life Lorna in December, 1972 and lived in the Turin area. It was here Pete built their home with his two hands, raised his family on the farm and taught his sons the value of hard work. He worked on the farm and in local feed mills to support his family.
Special thanks to all the staff of the Renal unit and Palliative unit for the care they provided Pete and Lorna.
A Celebration of Life will be held December 2, 2015 at 1:00pm at the IRON SPRINGS CHRISTIAN REFORMED CHURCH, Iron Springs, AB, with Pastor Frank deBoer officiating.
