KOSOLOFSKI

ANNE C. KOSOLOFSKI, beloved wife of the late Michael Kosolofski, passed away surrounded by the love of her family at the Chinook Regional Hospital in Lethbridge on Wednesday, April 27th, 2016 at the age of 89 years.

Anne will be lovingly remembered by her three children and their families; Stan (Marcia) Kosolofski and their children: Kyle (wife Becky and their children, Cassie and Caymbree), Taren (husband Simon Roger and their children, Kya and Jack) and Brooke Kosolofski; Kathy Forster and her children: Kristen (husband Nathan Whitling and their children, Josh, Cassie, Lauren and Ethan), Nathan (Asteid Forster and their children, Nneka, Nya and Amari); Annette (John) Jangula and their children, Morgan (Nicole) and Spencer (Kristen Crowe).

She is also remembered by her siblings: Lillian Schmidt, Ron (Suzanne) Schmidt, Wayne (Noreen) Schmidt and her sister-in-law Eldene Schmidt.

Along with her husband Mike, Anne was predeceased by her parents, Wendelin and Katherine (nee Tumbach) Schmidt, her brothers Dick and Fred Schmidt and her sisters, Margaret Dafoe and Rosal Sykes.

Mom was born in Prelate, Saskatchewan on January 7, 1927. She was the second oldest in a family of eight children. Mom loved all things domestic: baking, gardening, fancywork, embroidery (especially her tea towels, which are a cherished item among the girls), knitting, quilt making and cross stitch, to name a few!) She made many of these treasures for her family and was always willing to share them with others.

Mom and dad were married June 13, 1945. She clearly remembered that the day of their wedding was a Wednesday because the store that she worked in with her brother Fred was closed that day! She worked incredibly hard during this time of her life as she had two young children and also helped her mom care for her two younger brothers. Mom was very active in her community and her church. She was a lifetime member of the CWL. Faith and prayer were very important to mom; she never missed attending mass, praying a daily rosary and saying her daily prayers.

Mom moved to Lethbridge in the spring of 2008. This was a difficult move for her as she had to leave behind her house, yard and well-fed stray cats. As the years went by, her health began to deteriorate and in 2015, she moved to Legacy Lodge where she was able to receive more specialized care. Mom often spoke of “going home” and we thought she was talking literally but now realize she wanted to leave her earthly home to be reunited with Dad and the other important people in her life who predeceased her.

The Funeral Mass for mom will take place at ST. PATRICK’S ROMAN CATHOLIC CHURCH, 238 – 2nd Avenue N.E., Medicine Hat, Alberta, on Friday, May 6th, 2016 at 11:00 A.M.
