GUNTER

GARY WILLIAM GUNTER of Lethbridge, AB passed away peacefully with family by his side after a courageous battle with cancer on Monday, May 16, 2016 at the age of 67 years.

He is survived by his daughter, Jamie (Kevin) Thurlow, son Collin Gunter and grandsons Bradley, Jordan, Tyson and Kolson; brothers and sister Brenda (Doug) Marshall, John (Bonnie) Gunter and Rick Gunter. Gary will fondly be remembered by Bonnie (Mike) Yalowizer, Robert (Sandy) Beaucage, Doug (Kate) Beaucage and Carol (John) Pascuzzo and numerous nieces and nephews; as well as special friends Robin and Liz Findlay and family.

Gary loved to travel and enjoyed trips to Mexico, Costa Rica, Las Vegas and Fairmont, BC. Gary was a beloved husband, father, grandfather and friend, and was well loved for his humor, respect and generous spirit. The boys looked forward to “Boca” making his usual Sunday afternoon visit which always included pizza or ice cream treats. Meeting “the guys” for coffee at the Backstreet was something he really looked forward to. Gary loved to both play and watch sports, including golf, and there are many stories of “Uncle Bunkers” adventures on the golf course.

Gary was predeceased by his beloved wife: Arlene Gunter; parents: Dennis and Kathleen Gunter; and mother and father-in-law: Robert and Flora Beaucage.

A celebration of Gary’s life will be held at CORNERSTONE FUNERAL HOME, 2800 Mayor Magrath Drive South, Lethbridge, on Saturday May 21, 2016 at 11:00 A.M.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the St. Michaels Health Centre, Palliative Care Unit, 1400-9th Avenue South, Lethbridge, AB., T1J 4V5 or to the Canadian Cancer Society, 317 – 10th Street South, Lethbridge AB T1J 2M7
