SUSAN HARRIET JENSEN, born 19 October 1951, passed away from cancer in Lethbridge, Alberta on Monday, October 3, 2016. Susan is survived by her loving husband, John Sanders, and both her sons Tomi Jo “TJ” (Petra and sons Talen and Shayden) and Craig (Loris and daughters Ashlyn Bree and Abby Carmen). Susan was also a loving step-mother to John’s children, son Christopher (Amber and children Jacob and Brooklynn) and daughter, Cassandra (Todd).
She was born and educated in Taber, but was raised on the family farm at Fincastle. It is here where she learned to enjoy and love the tranquility of peace and quiet; she never did care for city living. Susan is survived by her siblings and their families, Diane (Garfield Bland), Jean (Blair Williams), Keith and sister-in-law Connie Smith Jensen; as well as many loving nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her parents Golden and Lela Jensen and her brother John.
Susan enjoyed her years as a bookkeeper where she met and worked with many wonderful people. She was an avid lover of the outdoors, and really loved fishing and camping. She loved her garden and always had beautiful flowers. She always loved animals; especially her dogs that gave her much companionship. Susan was blessed with many talents such as crocheting, knitting, sewing, quilting and needlework. Her family were often the recipients of her completed crafts and they have become cherished treasures to them. Susan has also been an avid reader all her life and enjoyed spending peaceful time in those fascinating worlds she read about.
Susan will be cremated and at her request there will not be a funeral. If anyone wishes, memorial tributes can be made to the Canadian Cancer Society (317-10 Street South, Lethbridge, T1J 2M7), or St. Michael’s Health Centre, Palliative Care (1400-9 Avenue South, Lethbridge, T1J 4V5).
