ELAINE “KAYE” SEELY, beloved wife of Vern F. Seely, of Lethbridge, formerly of Stirling and Fort Macleod, passed away peacefully at the Good Samaritans West Highlands surrounded by family on Monday, October 10th, 2016 at the age of 87 years.

Along with her husband, she is lovingly remembered by her five children: Lloyd (Tricia) of Mountain View, AB, Sandy of Somers, MT, Brian (Judy) of Overton, NV, Janice (Gord) of Pincher Creek, AB, Louise (Karl) of Creston, B.C. as well as 22 grandchildren, 60 great- grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

Also left to mourn Kaye’s passing are her sister, Reva Cole and many other extended relatives and friends.

She was predeceased by her parents, Orson and Lillie Derricott as well as eight of her siblings: Robert, Roy, Lei, Earl, Mae, John, Elmer and Faye.

Kaye loved to bless the lives of those around her, especially her family, with her considerable talents. She thoroughly enjoyed the comradery of gathering together with family and friends for quilting bees, game nights, picnics at the farm in the river bottom and Christmases at home. Kaye cherished being a wife and mother of 5 and all the cooking, canning, baking, gardening and sewing that went along with it as well as teaching her children the skills to do them also. She was very talented with her hands and made many, many wonderful creations that will be cherished for generations.

Kaye loved serving the Lord in her many leadership roles in her church and serving others in many capacities. She was always quick to stand up for the underdog.

Kaye was enjoyed and loved by all who knew her and will be deeply missed.

A Funeral Service will be held at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, COPPERWOOD WARD, 9 Keystone Terrace West, Lethbridge, AB on Saturday, October 15, 2016 at 1:00 P.M. with Bishop Sheldon McLachlan officiating.

Interment to follow at the Stirling Cemetery.
