Mrs. Ella Mary Lehto of Lethbridge, beloved wife of the late Mr. Reg Smeed and Mr. Harold Lehto, passed away at the Park Meadows Good Samaritans on Wednesday, October 19, 2016 at the age of 95 years. Ella was born in Lethbridge on March 27, 1921 to Annie & Nick Kozelenko, and lived in Southern Alberta her entire life. She married the love of her life, Reg Smeed in 1937 and they had four children together. Mom loved staying home to raise her family. She enjoyed cooking, crocheting and knitting. Mom loved gathering together with family and friends to celebrate the holidays. Later she remarried Harold Lehto and resided in Carmangay. She often travelled to BC to visit her daughter Sharon, as well her youngest son Dave. Mom marveled at the beauty of the mountains. Mom was a devoted grandmother who dearly loved her grandchildren. Her family is grateful that they were able to gather at Lori & Sheldon’s one last time to celebrate her 95th birthday and Mother’s Day this year. We love you, Mom. You will be dearly missed and forever in our hearts. Ella is survived by her two daughters Sharon (David Weitzel) Smeed of Kimberley, BC and Lori (Sheldon) Kelly of Lethbridge, AB; her two sons Jack (Jeanette) Smeed of Medicine Hat, AB and David (Donna) Smeed of Fort Langley, BC. She is also survived by her eleven grandchildren, nineteen great-grandchildren, and two great-great grandchildren. Ella was predeceased by her husband’s Reg Smeed (1972) and Harold Lehto (1991), as well as her granddaughter, Kim Fettinger Weitzel (2006). A Funeral Service will be held at 1:00pm on Tuesday, October, 25, 2016 at MARTIN BROTHERS RIVERVIEW CHAPEL, 610 4th St. S., Lethbridge, AB with Reverend Eva Stanley, officiating. Interment will follow in the Mountain View Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, in memory of Ella, those who wish may make memorial donations to the MS Society, 724 13 St. N., Lethbridge, AB T1H 2T1
