Ronald Kiyoshi Tobo

1946 – 2017

It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Ronald Kiyoshi on Monday, January 16, 2017 at the age of 70 years old. Ron was born in Raymond, Alberta and raised in Lethbridge attending LCI, LCC and the U of A pursuing a Business Degree. He eventually longed for the bigger city and moved to Toronto where he spent most of his working career in the warehouse and distribution business. Toronto opened up new experiences to food, new friendships and most importantly a close relationship with his cousins, Dale, Sandy, Gary and Elaine. When not working, he played a bit of tennis and golf but his favourite past time was spending time by a river or lake fishing for that elusive fish. Later in life he returned to Lethbridge to look after his mother Pat whom he cared for and remained devoted to until her passing. Ron was known for his love of gourmet food and libation, and the occasional visit to the casino. He will be forever remembered for his loving and caring nature, his generous spirit and wicked sense of humor. Ron was predeceased by his parents Mike and Pat Tobo. He is survived by his sister Joyce Tobo; nephews Brenon Holmes (Shannon) and Tyler Holmes (Megan); sister Shelley Tobo Gaudreau (Paul Gaudreau); niece Paige Bontus (Troy); nephew Brett Gaudreau; as well as great nephews Ryan, Eric, Dash; and great niece Sage. Family and friends are invited to a Celebration of Ron’s Life between 11:00am and 1:00pm on Saturday, January 28, 2017 at the LETHBRIDGE LODGE, CEDAR BALLROOM, 320 Scenic Drive South, Lethbridge, Alberta. A Private Family inurnment will be held prior in the Mountain View Cemetery. Flowers are gratefully declined. Those who wish, memorial donations may be made to a charity of their choice.
