NEILSON ALICE LARUE (DOWDLE) NEILSON Mother, Grandmother, Great Grandmother and Friend

Mother was always a hard worker and with a sense of humor. She was the eldest of Alice Ada Webster and Merriett Dewey “Duke” Dowdle. She was born in Cardston, Alberta Canada on September 27, 1921 in a small house across the street from the temple. LaRue met Sidney William Neilson whom she married and became the proud parents of six children: Robert “Bob” Neilson (Rose Banack), Darlene Duncan, Yvonne Jones, Shelley (Robert “Bud”) Shinkle, Brian Neilson (Fiona Wilson) and Glen Neilson (Donna Nordstrom). Mom had many talents: crochet, quilting, embroidery, calligraphy, exquisite penmanship, canning, fantastic baking, and dancing. LaRue left us to be with her husband Sid on Saturday, January 28, 2017 who has been waiting 20 long years for her to join him. She is survived by her 6 children, 20 grandchildren, 37 great grandchildren, her sister Enid Pepper. In addition to her husband Sid, LaRue is predeceased by her brother Lloyd (Zoe) Dowdle, brother-in-law Raymond Pepper, great grandchildren Kiana Elford and Mateo Martin.
