OLIVER

DAVID DUANE OLIVER passed away peacefully, surrounded by family, on Saturday, February 25, 2017 at the Chinook Regional Hospital at the age of 83 years. He was predeceased by his loving wife, Necia (nee Hague) in 2004, and his parents, David and Maggie Oliver. Left to mourn are their children: Robert (Phyllis) Oliver of Townsend, Montana; Michael (Sandra) Oliver of Picture Butte; Michell (Kevin) Anderson of Lethbridge; 13 grandchildren and 8 great- grandchildren (with 2 great- grandchildren on the way.) Duane also leaves to mourn his two sisters: Lorraine (Jerry) Johnson and Sharon (Barry) Buchanan and a brother-in-law, Robert (Delores) Hague and numerous nieces and nephews. Duane was born in Lethbridge on July 14, 1933. The family made their home on a farm just North of Picture Butte. He was raised in a loving family and enjoyed living on the farm and working with his Dad in the fields. Duane and Necia were married on April 2, 1953. They made their home in Picture Butte. Family was the central focus of their life. He and Necia were kind and considerate, and lovingly cared for their parents and extended family, making them comfortable in their golden years. He was active in the community, doing all he could to make a difference and help others. He was a devoted and attentive Father always willing to listen and give advice or help out in any way he could. Duane was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. His sense of humor and strong faith helped him endure to the very end. The Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, March 4, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, WEST STAKE CENTRE, 560 Highlands Blvd. West, Lethbridge, with Bishop Sheldon McLachlan officiating. Friends may meet the family on Friday, March 3 from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m. at CHRISTENSEN SALMON GENERATIONS FUNERAL HOME, 703-13 Street North, Lethbridge, or prior to the service at the church on Saturday from 10:00 to 10:50 a.m.
