Alfreda “Freda” Jones

1920 – 2017

Alfreda “Freda” Jones, beloved wife of the late Jack Jones, passed away at Legacy Lodge in Lethbridge on March 6, 2017 at the age of 96 years.

Freda was born June 14, 1920 in Nanaimo, BC the youngest of five children of Constantine and Maria (Cattoni) Moser. She moved with her family to the Coalhurst/Lethbridge area in 1929 where she resided until her passing. She was united in marriage to Jack Jones on October 9, 1946 in Lethbridge AB. Jack predeceased her in death August 24, 2016. They were married for almost 70 years.

Freda was a hard worker who took great pride in being a wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She had a passion for cooking especially from her Italian heritage. A woman of deep faith, she felt truly blessed for the unending love she received from her family and friends.

Freda was a long time member of St. Augustine’s Anglican Church, the Trefoil Guild, an original member of the evening branch of the Ladies Auxiliary of St. Augustine’s, a 42 year member of The Royal Canadian Legion Ladies Auxiliary and a life time member of the Lethbridge Senior Citizens Organization.

Besides her loving husband Jack, Freda was predeceased by her parents Constantine and Maria (Cattoni) Moser; brothers Albert and Roy Moser; sisters Elvira (Rene) Ward and Yolanda Trentini. Freda is survived by her loving daughter Penny (Robert) Marshall; two grandsons Sean (Nancy) Marshall, Ryan (Tanis) Marshall; three great-granddaughters McKenna, Rowan and Jordyn Marshall; sisters-in-law Evelyn Jones, Ivy Chenger and Anita “Joan” Jones and several nieces, nephews and their families. Freda lived a long life and we feel blessed to have shared with her so many wonderful memories.
